Planned Giving

"For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
Matthew 6:21, Luke 12:31

We all have treasures. You may treasure people. Maybe you have found memories of happy times that you treasure. You may treasure photographs
or special gifts or mementos that remind you of a special place or time. These types of treasures are valuable to each of us at various levels.

We also have earthly assets or treasures that we have collected over a lifetime. Some assets are very valuable in today's economy; others are simply valuable only to us. "Planned giving" means having a plan for your assets and your estate. This type of giving goes beyond just writing (the much needed and appreciated) monthly or quarterly check. This type of gift involves at a minimum intentionally planning your estate to include charities that are close to your heart (like Tennessee Cooperative Baptist Fellowship). For example, the gift may be a matter of giving an appreciated asset thereby sheltering it from heavy tax burdens. Or it may be a gift that provides for Tennessee CBF in the future, and provides an income stream to you right now. Whatever the gift, it is undoubtedly a matter of the heart.

Many of us tithe regularly to the Lord's work while we are living. Have you considered what your final gift will be? Is it possibly a tithe to the Lord through your estate? You can leave your legacy and show where your heart lies through your careful planning and gifts through your estate.

Where is your treasure? Have you considered lately where YOUR heart is? "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."
